I am so excited to announce the 1st of many home tours on
Bright, Bold, and Beautiful! I knew I wanted to begin with Kirsten Nease who is not only a fabulous designer in the Richmond area, but also a good friend! She offers full service interior design for customers with residences on the East coast.
Recently, I had the chance to tour her beautiful home. I would say that
her style is Traditional with a European influence. She is very fortunate to have many treasures in her home that have been handed down through the generations. The one of a kind Antler set {from her German ancestors} around the mantle
is a great conversation piece.
Kirsten's home accents change with the seasons. Currently she is displaying her Spring decor in the Foyer, which includes a real Ostrich egg: another treasured heirloom. The Damask wallpaper is a gorgeous backdrop to these lovely pieces.
The home office is my favorite room... Kirsten found a pillow that she loved, and decorated this room around it! From the rich red lacquered walls, fabulous patterned drapes, stylish leopard rug, and colorful accent pillows, this room is a show stopper!
The Dining Room is set for a Spring dinner party. She has an assortment of the old and the new. The Imari plate collection over the sideboard came from her Great Aunt and has such sentimental meaning to her. On the other hand, Kirsten just bought this amazing birdcage which is tres chic!
As I walked around, I realized that Kirsten uses the same color palette throughout her home, which provides a wonderful flow from room to room. As a mother of three, she understands that function and comfort are essential for any active household. Her family room is a perfect example of this concept.
Thank you Kirsten for sharing your talents with us...
You are truly an inspiration to us all!
